Rapids set to take on the Fury in their home opener
The Columbus Rapids will be returning home following losses against Memphis for their home opener against the Fayetteville Fury. The matches are set to begin at 5:30 p.m. EST. The Rapids Womens's team will be the first on the pitch and then the men's match will begin following the conclusion of the women's match.
The Rapids lost both season openers against the Memphis Americans, with the Men’s team losing 6-0 and the Women’s team losing 10-2.
Following the losses, both Rapids teams brought in some new faces for their matchup with the Fury. The Rapids Men’s team signed Manny Chavez, who has experience in the NPSL and UPSL with A.S. Los Angeles and Irving Rayados FC, and Niall Torricelli, who has indoor soccer experience with the St. Louis Ambush Reserve.
The Rapids Women’s team has brought in Ariel Jones, who played soccer at Auburn University at Montgomery and for Smiths Station High School.

ABOUT NATIONAL INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE (NISL):
The National Indoor Soccer League, which has its league office in Georgia, was founded in January 2021 by a group of experienced sports team/league owners with over 40 years of ownership experience. The NISL has plans to grow the league nationally within the next three years and will kick off its inaugural season in December 2021.
