Fayetteville Fury indoor soccer will field men's and women's teams at Crown Coliseum

Fayetteville is adding another professional sports team to its local roster.

The National Indoor Soccer League on Monday announced that a new franchise will call Fayetteville's Crown Coliseum home.

The Fayetteville Fury will be a member of the NISL's inaugural season, set to start in late December, fielding both men's and women's pro indoor soccer teams.

"It is nonstop action and it’s going to be great for the city of Fayetteville and the surrounding area," said team co-owner and operator Andrew Haines.

The NISL was formed in January and its first franchise, the Memphis Americans, was unveiled in late April.

Inspired by his four daughters, NISL executive board member Joshua Blair saw the opportunity to break new ground beyond bringing pro soccer to host cities for the first time.
